I am going over to Mom's to help her out. She has a bad leg and needs to get surgery. She doesn't want to get it done and I will have to be real patient and listen to why she won't get it done and also to the list of things that she needs to have done. I am thinking of hitting a meeting first before I go there cuz that always helps me to be more patient. Are you patient or impatient? Please let me know! Thanks!-----Mistyeve

Patience is something that has improved over the years, especially with others more so than with myself. As they say, if you want to learn patience, you have to learn to tolerate the stuff that comes your way in order to practice it. Hopefully this will bring some patience and light into your weekend. For many years I led a double life. From 7 to 3 I was gentle, kind, patient, loving, even joyful. But at 3 , depending on the conditions when i got home I could continue that or become a raving lunatic or a deer in the headlights scared to death. My patience with a student not understanding math was excellent. But let me walk in to a drunk who had left work early...taken a chance on getting fired by drinking on the job...and I totally forgot what patience was.
Once i sstarted working the steps and learning to let go...learning to accept....learnig to rely on the wisdom and guidance of my HP, my patience is most of the time every day. I came home to a passed out drink 2 weks ago. I even posted abotu it here, but nobody seemed to notice. I got angry about the hole in the wall and th fact he had no idea what i was talking about when i mentioned the wall. I was not so angry that he was drunk. I was angry that my beautiful wall had a huge hole in it. I got over it, but the hole is still there. it might have been fixed by now, but we had to buy a new dryer this week. That was not in the budget. LOL
Learning not to sweat the small stuff and to accept those things that are out of my control and power has helped me with PATIENCE.

Dear Caressa-----I agree that patience is earned by putting up with "tolerance tests" Thanks for stopping by----Mistyeve
Dear Lin----I have been praying for you and your husband since I first read that post. I just don't know what to say to you other then you are in my thoughts and prayers. He has the disease of alcoholism and it can run rampant. It can't be cured just arrested. The only requirement for AA membership is the desire to stop drinking. I sure hope he has the desire...Thank you for stopping by today. I do like to hear from you!!!---Mistyeve
