I have been paranoid and defensive wondering if I am gonna get fired or not. I have done just about every thing I can do to be prepared. I bought 2 new dresses for interviews and looked thru the want ads and faxed out 4 resumes. I am in the process of updating my resume. I will go into work today and do my job until I am told NOT to. Are you relaxed or defensive? Please let me know! Thanks!------- Mistyeve

I cant understand why you think you will be fired? is it because of your work or because the volume of work has slowed down and they dont need you?
relaxed/defensive. I had a very relaxed day yesterday. I shopped a little, I watched alot of TV. we went to the cemetery, I got a pizza, I paid bills. I mowed one of the three yeards he does on Monday. I was not on the run alot. I had a TWINGE of defensiveness late in the afternoon. it's sort of a childhood thing.
My older brother could do no wrong in my mom's eyes. it didnt matter if he hit me first, if i hit back it was all my fault because i had probably provoked him. They never believed me over him and he knew that...rubbed it in.
I am supposed to put hair color on my sister's hair today. She's never colored in her life and alot of gray is showing. her daughter gets married on sat and her daughter and I BOTh asked her to color for the wedding. She's afraid she wont like it so she wants it to go away quickly. I suggested the brand I like because of the conditioners. I told her it would be gone in about 6 weeks. I bought it. Things were fine. Then she spend a few hours with that BROTHEr and his wife. The wife told her she liked a different brand because it washes out quicker. I've tried that one and the conditioners are nnot as good. She went with the sister in law and bought it. She called me and told me. i said. Fine. you get what you want and i'll put it on. But in the back of my mind it was the same old childhood tapes of my brother stepping in and erasing the plans we made for 2 weeks. (even though it was his WIFE...lol) I did not show my defensiveness over her taking their opinion over mine, but i did feel it.
Thanks for this chip. Guess it was one I really needed to work on.

Well my son was prepared to go on the defensive when he showed up at my door to borrow my bus pass to go to work. I think he thought I was going to give him a hard time after he made the statement, "I was drunk the whole weekend." He knows, he knows I know, and it is so good to be able to just let go, and pray that one day he may make the decision to join us in recovery.
I am glad that I can relax and just let him walk his own road.

Dear Lin----Yeah I am defensive cuz there just isn't 6 hours worth of work for me to do each day and I have to have a min. of 30 hours a week to be eligible for insurance. All this stuff interlocks with each other & gets me very nervous and defensive especially when I am asked to Justify My Existance!!!! Thanks for stopping by and good luck on the hair coloring.-------Mistyeve
Dear John---I wish I could laugh off my difficulties but I get too d**n tied up in knots over them. I thank you for stopping by-Mistyeve
Dear Caressa----It seems like your family knows just what buttons to push to get ya all defensive. You are doing good to be able to not blow your cool. Thanks for stopping by-------Mistyeve

Hi Mistyeve,
It's late but I still have 15 min for Tuesday. LOL
Relaxed/Defensive
I have to say this has been one of the most relaxing weekends in a very long time. One day we went junk food shopping . So everyone had a blast with that putting their favorite goodies in the wagon, in between the fruits and veggies. And yesterday we went mini golfing. I did pretty good par 55. Not bad for an old bag. LOL Just as my weekend turned out really good, I think a lot of defensiveness has to do with attitude. If you carry a positive attitude things go well . Let that nasty negative stuff come in and it kills everything. IMHO.
Love & God Bless Arlene

My Very Dear Arlene---W. Clement Stone made up a lot of slogans about positive attitude. He said "When life hands ya lemons make lemonade" and PMA=Postive Mental Attitude. Glad ya had some fun and got some good munchies! Thanks for stopping by------Mistyeve
