I try praise when ever I can. Most people are glad for a kind word. I make a point to praise God every day all thru the day. It is hard to NOT criticize when you know that someone is treating you wrong but that is something I need to work on. It is NOT what ya say but how ya say it. Do you praise or ciriticize? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

you have a very good point there.....a praise comment makes a difference in how you say it. If you tell a person...wow you look great today! The way you say it might make them assume you think they look like crap most of the time. I had not thought of that until you said it.
I also try to praise and always praise my HP. With the 2 jobs i have, praise is an important part. Praising good service at a restaurant is even part o my routine. Yesterday I had a very negative experience. We had an Olive Garden open a few weeks ago. We waited hoping the kinks would be worked out. We went for lunch. We were there 15 min before the opened and waited at the door. So...we were about the 5th table to be seated. We sat and we sat. Waiters and waitresses were standing around looking ...about 7 were near us doing nothing at all. Then 15 minutes later one of them came ans asked us what we'd like to drink. She got it. She came back and took our order. Our waiter STILL had not shown his face. Finally when HE had to turn it in, he dropped by and said they had given him 3 tables and ours was not in his view and he did not realize we were sitting there. the food was not as good as we are used to at that restaurant either. So i did NOT give any praise to our waiter. an hour and 20 minutes after being seated we left. I'm really glad neither of us was on a lunch hour from work! Lots of people came in after us and ate and left before we did. So for now..we will wait several more months at least before going back. OR we will drive an hour to Evansville and eat at theirs. They can practice those skills on somebody else.
praise is important, but I also try to be sure it is earned and deserved. If not, it is meaningless.

Morning Mistyeve,
Praise/Criticize
I would like to start this chip with the following quote:
I give praise when it is justly due or the situation merits it. I try to contain criticism to the constructive nature. No one wants to hear put downs , or get a pat on the back when it is unjustified.
Love & God Bless Arlene

I prefer constructive criticism. This is a disease of perception and if I am off track, I want to know. Not saying I will follow advice or agree with the person, but I would prefer to be told then told I am just 'fine'.
If someone says, "You are doing just fine," I go home and take my inventoy.
