My former sponsor tells me that this chip covers a lot of territory such as values and lust. I think everyone has their own code of ethics and that is okay as long as you aren't hurting anyone including yourself. Are you moral or immoral??? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

I agree with your sponsor..values and lust are definitely part of morality. It's doing things my HP woudl be proud of.
My husband does tno want to come to my WW meetings any more because he was the only man. So we go over with my key on Wed. morning early and he weighs. I put it on his card. But then when Wed. night and my meeting comes along, he does nto come. However, I PAY for him and count him since he weighed. Since i have a key, I COULD weigh him free, but I woudl not do that. I feel that woudl be stealing and cheating my employer. He's not very serious abotu his program...mostly eats what he wants, but I know once he says he does not want to weigh in some morneing, he's DONE. So for now, he's TRYING a little bit....and tha'ts better than what he was doing before. He's lost 20 lbs since jan. I know a man who has lost 88 and started a day after. So it CAN be done. I see that as a moral thing...not to cheat jsut because i have a key.
I'd never even consider cheating on my husband. And folks say never say never, but I to9tally believe if something happened to him, I'd stay single and celibate the rest of my life.
I try to do what is right...to care for the poor, to help out when needed, to give my jobs 110%. (instead of 90%, etc)
Definitely on the MORAL side of this chip. My values are high and I dont lust....i come CLOSE to lust when it comes to certain ice creams, but I dont LUST.

Dear Lin----I have heard it said that you can lead a horse to water but ya can't make him drink. I believe you can kick his ass in and get him good and wet!!! You're at least getting your husband educated and motivated to try to lose some weight and that is a good thing! I think butter pecan with butterscotch topping would definitely get me lusting!!! LOL Thanks for stopping by! Good to hear from you!------Mistyeve

The word I like to associate with this is integrity. Walking your talk and being the best person I can be in today. The words that came to mind were "moral fibre" and it is me being the kind of person my Higher Power would have me be in today.

In Step Four, it asks us to take a moral inventory. It isn't how often you do something, it is about the fact that you did it. You don't have to list all the immoral things you did, just admit that you were. It is like they say, "I am a liar, cheat, and a thief." As I continued to use, I dropped all the spiritual principles that I had been raised on. I wanted to fit in. I wanted attention. I wanted you to like me. I wanted to belong. I wanted you to love me, because I couldn't love myself. As the country music song says, "Looking for love in all the wrong places."

Hi Jo----Wow it is a real flash back to read a post from 2005! I use to be Mistyeve but now I am Bunnypie. I do feel the same way about morals. I like what you said about moral fiber. It is what you are made up of! I am glad to be back after the computer crash. I am so glad that every thing has been cleaned up and taken care of. I feel I have a moral obligation to work the 6th & 7th steps which is what the Chipping Away column is all about-----Bunnypie
