My divorce will go to court and be final July 18th. It is less then a month away. I am very humble that things did not work out and it has had to come to this. I am proud that I plan to carry on and stand on my own 2 feet. Do you have pride or humility? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

Morning Mistyeve,
Well I guess congrads are in order that the date is final. Now you can close that chapter of the book on your life. Sure there will be those twinges of the past that creep back in but keep in mind the overall picture and the fresh start that you will have now. Let God and your Program guide you.
Pride/Humility
For me this is a win - win chip. A certain amount of pride I feel is necessary to function in this world. Pride to be able to get up , get dressed and present myself as a human being. Pride for my families achievements. But along with that pride there is humility. Not boasting or bragging how wonderful they are and showing off. A gentle acknowledgement , a pat on the back. Not the constant sound bytes showing off. So for me I am on both sides of this chip but the pride is contained.
Love & God Bless Arlene

I think this chip is confusing. Pride can be a good thing when it means we are proud of our work , our accomplishments, etc. But to be a character 'defect" we need to think of the Other kind of pride..the braggy, boastful, haughty, stuck-up, snobby meaning of PRIDE. Humility is a WONDERFUL trait to have, but PRIDe in the negative meaning is not. I try to be humble...i DO allow my HP to be in charge of my life and my daily decisions and actions. And I try not to be snobby and braggy. I was at a family wedding recently where the ex-husband was the father of the bride. he brought his new wife and her daughter. Most of the family was ignoring them. I talked to them. I told them I was happy they got to be there and was happy to meet them. I noticed most others ignored them. I'm sure they noticed it too, but at least I went out of my way to be sure they heard it from at least one member of the family. I talked to them before the wedding and during the reception. The braggy and boastful side of me was around once this past week. I learned one of my dogs would be in a national calendar. the photographer gets the royalties for it, but I get to see him in a calendar. When I found out I emailed directions to everybody so they could look at it on line. Perhaps that's being too boastful and proud. The week before that I bought a new 2006 Pontiac G6 car. I have showed it to lots of folks because I'm proud of it. But perhaps I seem braggy and boastful. And maybe there is a thin line between being snobby and stuck up and being boastful and proud. Guess I need to think on this one. Perhaps i need to wait until somebody says..WHERE IS YOUR RED CAR? then tell them i got a new one. Meanwhile, if you want to see my ROCKY, look at browntrout.com go to dog breeds...then schnauzers. Look at the 2006 mini wall calendar...then back cover. he's the top right with the red scarf and a red flower by his foot. His mom and sisters are on the same page in 2 or 3 other pictures. Dear Lin----The doggie woggie!!! Please give him a long nose to tail pet for me!!! You should be proud of him! He is your 4 legged son and you raised him right! LOL Hey dog spelled backwards is God so you are just showing glory to God and that is a good thing!!!!
This has always been a difficult chip for me cuz pride is the 1st & strongest of the 7 deadly sins and for me one of the most difficult. I am too proud to ask for help a lot of times until I am so desperate and hurting I am ready to scream. Pride can be good/bad thing and this gets so tricky!!!!
Thanks for stopping by & CONGRATS about your darling doggie!!! Mistyeve

My Very Dear Arlene---I really like how you say pride can be good if it is self contained or like a self esteem thing. I feel good when I get a shower and put clean clothes on. I can face the world with me head held up. I don't have my nose in the air but I don't have my chin on the ground either. I think BALANCE is the key with this chip. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!---Mistyeve
