I think of some quickies when I hear the word grateful. Attitude of Gratitude. Can't be hateful when ya are greateful. Grateful alcoholics do not drink. These are a few of my thoughts of gratitude. Are you grateful or ungrateful? Please let me know! Thanks-----Mistyeve

Good morning Mistyeve,
Count me on the grateful side of this chip. I am grateful for finding God again, for all that I have and all that I have become. Sure there is still plenty of work, but that is all part of the journey and there is a whole life time to work at it.
Love & God Bless Arlene

When i found recovery meetings there was a sign on the wall that said WITH AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITDE> I could not for the life of me figure why an alcoholic or alanon woudl be GRATEFUl about ANYTING! I kept staring at the sign each wek...purposely picked a chair on the side of the table that faced it. And before I knew It had happened, I foudn myself also very grateful. I made gratitude lists at first and when I was feeling self pity, I got our my list, read it and added more to it. When it got to be multiple pages I stopped adding to it, but I sitll read it.
Like Lildee i am very grateful that i havd GOD in my life again. And i am very grateful for the person my recovery has helped me become. One interesting thing about that list..when something was ticking my off and making me feel sorry for myself, I usually found something abut that topic/person on my list. That softened it. Example. I was grateful that I had a job that I enjoyed. If my boss ticked me off and hurt my feelings I looked at the list and there was my JOB. Somethig i was actually grateful for. The the amount I love my job was much more than what he did that day to tick me off.
Definitely GRATEFUL here.
(also grateful to have a chip each morning to post about. Recently it has looked like the Misty/Lin?Lildee show here. Cant figure why others won't post. We have over 500 registered members. It looks like more than 3 woudl be posting.)
