I am usually a lot more patient on a weekend then a weekday. I have a lot looser schedule on the weekend and can afford to be more patient. Are you patient or impatient? Please let me know! Thanks----Mistyeve

Interesting that more free time wouldregulate patience. I'm gonna think on that one and see if I ever use patience that way.
I think having patience is something that I used to give conditions too. If I had a student who could not understand how to subtract, I could work with him for hours and stay calm and try all kinds of approaches to get him to understand the concetp. But let me get home that same day to a husband who had gotten drunk at work and came home early and was passed out and my patience was off the charts as impatience. I had to learn to be patient with active alkies and addicts. I had to learn that they had a disease and i was powerless over it. Being powerless over something helps me be patient and accept it. Getting caught in traffic by a train....jsut a chance to spend some quiet time in prayer. If a clerk at the checkout, bank, concession stand, fast food restaurant, etc. is very slow I can often jsut get into another line.If the person in front of me in trafic does not turn as soon as they have opportunities, I am OK with it. yesterday we were in another town for a lab follow up appointment. My husband was driving. I asked to stop at a little shop I'd heard abut. He had to get in a turn lane on a busy street. The third car in front of us kept missing opportunities to turn. He cussed and fumes....he kept yelling at her (and of course 4 cars back she could not hear it) and he'd bang hig hand on his steering wheel. He was quite impatient over something he was totally powerless over....the driving choi ces of another driver. I woudl ahve waited and not said a word, but he had a hissy fit. I guess I'd call myself "laid back". I woudl have had patience in that situation. He had none. We were not short on time or anything like htat, so I dont think time was an issue. I'm sure goona think on that one though and see iflack of time causes me to be impatient at times. Thanks for the chance to think on this chip.

Morning Mistyeve,
Yep Misty, I am a lot more patient on a weekend also. For me not having to ahere to time tables and schedules and just going with the flow at my own pace just makes things a little more peaceful and calm. This is especially true during the school year when everything and everyone is on some sort of a schedule. During the summer things slow down a lot so there is more time to get things done. Unfortunately some things have to be done at a certain time, whether I like it or not. The kids have to be up and get it together to make their bus for school. Something I have no control over. So it's up at 5:30 like it or not. Time has always been an issue for me, especially since I am a night owl. Even when I worked I worked the night shift. I was just a more natural time zone for me. So I guess when I am in a better time zone my patience level increases. Guess that is just me.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Dear Lin----I have noticed that some drivers are real pushy and nasty about if ya miss a chance to do a left turn for example. I say to myself "I refuse to get into a head on collision just so this idiot can make the light" People can be real spoiled brats about NOT getting their turn. I reminds me of a rude & selfish child. This chip forces me to pass for an adult. Thanks for stopping by!
Dear Arlene----I love your theory of a comfortable time zone. I was thinking of the old rock song by Neil Diamond "Thank the Lord for the Night Time" when ya mentioned being a night owl. Good tune and I like the afternoon and evening over the morning so we all have our preferences. Thanks for stopping by!-------Mistyeve
