The date for my appearance in court to get the divorce finished is July 18th. I have feeling of love and hate toward my almost ex. I plays a real tug of war inside me. Do you have love or hate? Please let me know! Thanks------ Mistyeve

Dear Misty Eve!!
Yes I know what love hate is and for me it is not a nice place to be, there is a person in my home group that really seems to take over without anyone being able to tell this person to stop because she is married to another member. I do love her but she is so power hungry. I just remeber that it's program not personality as hard as that is it is a must or I wouldn't even go there.
Have another good 24 hours everybody!!

Great to have you back BIG JIM! Sorry to hear a person in your group is such a control freak. Perhaps it would help if you kept in mind, if she's doing it all, I wont ahve to work so hard. LOL And like you said...program above personalities. Those two reminders to yourself should help.
love/hate? I have often said I love the alcoholic but hate the disease. I'm not sure HATE is the right word, though. Hate is a very strong word. I try not to use it at all. I don't HATE any foods, but I do avoid a few. I don't HATE bad weather, I tolerate it grudgingly at times. I dont hate any person or group of people, but I dont spend any more time than necessary around certain ones. The closest I come to HATE against others is when I read of people who abuse or kill children with no remorse. I really hate hearing that this is happening. I hate that people are actually that mean.
For the most part I totally LOVE others. I do my best not to show it if I am around one of those I choose to avoid. I was not a very loving person when I found recovery. I had to learn to love myself before I could attempt to love others.

My Very Dear Jim----So good to hear from you! Glad you are able to make meetings. It seems like every group has at least one power happy person. If ya don't see them then it might just be you!!! LOL I really feel like these people are a good example of what NOT to be! Please come back & chip away with us! Love & Hugs--- Mistyeve
Dear Lin----I think there has to be a balance between love and hate. You can't appreciate love until ya don't have it. My up stairs neighbors are parasite free loaders who have NOT paid rent in months and refuse to move. They disgust me!!! The landlady has put a lawyer on it to evict them but by the time that goes thru it will be at least 3 more months! I hate how the rest of the tenants (myself included) work hard and pay rent and these scumbag freeloaders get a free ride!!!) I hate people who deliberately take advantage and let others carry the load. They are not handicapped or anything just real freaking lazy & disgusting!!! I was not able to do laundry cuz this parasite excuse of a woman was doing HER laundry and the only relief I got was that she HAD to pay to do it! No one gets free laundry! Sorry for the rant but I feel much better now!-----Mistyeve

I have to agree with the theory of loving an addict but HATE the disease that consumes them to do the things that they do to themself thats so out of control. I tell you it sure does draw a line with your mind and heart on trying to put that into perspective. oh yeah, welcome back Big Jim great to see your post today.

Dear DG---It doesn't just have to be an alcoholic to make me feel that way. My Mom can make me crazy with her opinions and the way she chooses to live. I love her but hate the way she acts some times. Thanks for stopping by again HOney!!! Good to hear from you-----Mistyeve
