I got a big flower pot and planted some impatience flowers to remind me to be patient. I am willing to water and weed the flowers. I am stubborn about having flowers even
tho we are in a terrible drought.

Cool that you spelled impatients as impatience for a reminder. I like your thinking.
I call that an ANCHOR. When you ahve an opject that reminds you of something positive to be changing in your life.
I am willing to sdo what it takes to stay physically healthy and to maintain my mental and spiritual health as well. I am stubborn enough to hold on to the new size clothes i am wearing and stubborn enough to want to keep my serenity in tact. So i do the legwork and leave the reast to my HP.
That works.
Little bit of both on this ship, but at least the STUBBORn side is not what it used to be when I was too stubborn to give others a chance. I was stubborn enough to want to hold on to anger, resentments, control.

Dear Lin---Hey! Thanks for explaining what an "anchor" is!!!
I have always liked to have visual
reminders of positive stuff. One of the strongest "anchors" I have in my program is a stuffed animal
rhino. I heard early on in my recovery that the rhino has great acceptance. He is a 5 ton rhino with only 5 ounce testicles and hey that takes great acceptance to live with that!!! I pet on my stuffed animal rhino when acceptance gets too difficult for me. He is a wonderful visual and a great "anchor" as you call it!!!
