I am a DO IT person. I rarely procrastinate. But I have caught myself procrastinating on something at school. The first day of schol we got lots of lists, sub folders, a photo album page, etc. to do for our new principal. They are all due by next Monday and i finished all of mine already. But we got a checklist from the special reading teacher. It's three pages long and she wants to know what day we plan to teach each of these skills. I jsut plain dont think it is necessary and have put it off. I'm overwhelmed that we have to fit in an hour for her each week and probably an hour for the speech teacher too. It's tough enough to get the kids used to just dong regular assignments.
So this form I se myself as PROCRASTINATING big time. I think it may be almost a resentment that she is expecting us to do such a thing. Why not jsut tell her when we are having something come up that we need her help with???
I guess since I ahve realized i am procrastinating, i better get on it!
are you a procrastinator or a DO IT person?

Shoot! LOL I was hoping for a different chip so I wouldn't haffta bust myself out! LOL
Okay, okay.....MOST times I'm a 'do-it' kinda gal? Does that count? LOL
During my drinking and using career I wasn't exactly 'feeling any pain' so it's not like I had to be proactive with health problems. They interfered with my using--and going to physicians wasn't exactly high on my list of priorities. They asked questions and had ways of discovering things I didn't exactly want discovered.
So, I'm putting off going to a physician for an MRI they're suggesting I have. Cancelled it once cuz I felt decidedly better. Rescheduled it after I got challenged by some cranky wise oldfart---something about NOT having those two little letters behind my name and paying folks WITH those two little letters behind their name GOOD money so I can NOT do what they suggest.
Have I ever mentioned I can be a BIT uncooperative? LOL
I rescheduled! Umm....I also had to cancell what I rescheduled cuz I failed to remember a prior obligation I had. Which means I need to reschedule the rescheduled test that I cancelled after I cancelled the first one?! Hmmmmm...
Oh yeah.....I AM procrastinating...... LOL
I don't like doctors. And I don't LIKE laying in tubes listening to clicking noises. And I don't LIKE finding out things are wrong with me when I already KNOW things are wrong with me.
*grumbling* Fine. I'll reschedule the rescheduled appointment that I cancelled after I rescheduled from cancelling!
But I'm NOT going to like it! LOLOLOL

Morning,
For me I too am a Do it person. If I procrastinate or get complacent about things they only pile up or I loose the skills I need to draw on. For me life is better in little chunks rather than having to deal with a big massive project that can be just too over whelming.
I have seen just how devastating complacency and procrastination can be and I would much rather avoid those situations.
Couple of examples;
When my daughter was in elementary school she had a project to do on the Presidents. All of them. She left it for the last hour. Well that was a sleepless night for sure. And the bad part of it was that she could have done a much better job on the report doing it little by little. So not only does complacency/procrastination make the job over whelming it also decreases your performance.
Another daughter loves to let the laundry pile up. Then she spends an entire day doing it instead of doing a little work as needed and then enjoying the rest of the day.
Me I would much rather get a tedious job over and done with rather than sitting and fretting over it.
Just some thoughts
Love & God Bless lildee

Thanks graced and Lildee for the replies. Graced..I bet most of us would like to put off medical procedures and tests. the thing that spurs me on is that idea of early detection...if they catch things early, they dont get quite so serious.
Good luck!
And lildee..I'm with you...much rather do a job when it is small ...before it piles up. Laundry, dishes, clening, raking leaves, mowing grass, shoveling snow, etc. ALL pile up more if you let them sit a while
And by the way, I went to work and did that report and turned it in before the day began.
