I looked at the list and this was the one that caught my eye first. I asked myself WHY???
All I could think of was last night. I had to be at schol from 6 AM to 6 PM. We had sandwiches brought in right after school and then parent-teacher conferences were scheduled every 10 minutes. I had 2 who came earlier int he week, one who said she'd be in vegas and woudl nto be there. But I had 2 that jsut never showed up. So twice I had 30 minute breaks with nobody coming at all. Tonight is a repeat and I will have 11 back to back. I was wating to get impatient when I had those two long breaks. But instead I looked at it as OPPORTUNITY. I pulled out slepping lists to get ready to copy for upsoming weeks. I pulled out and got ready ...even copied the notes for SS chapter that starts next wek. I pulled out and sent the math tests that I will be on next. I stayed busy so those long breaks were not wasted. That kept me PATIENT. I was even PATIENT when my last one wanted to argue with how I could off his child's papers for making the wrong letters. I told him why. It is to teach him to make them correctly...to be more careful..to check over his work. The boy keeps making the wrong letters. I keep counting them wrong. I've been doing this for 35 years. One irate aprent is not gonna change me. LOL
Are you PATIENT or IMPATIENT?

Patient/Impatient
Patience has definitely come into play around here. My daughter made a hole in my new bathroom wall , right through the ceramic tiles. Don't ask me how but the hole is there. Anyway trying to find a reputable contractor to fix the wall is testing my patience. I had one fellow come and said he could fix "anything". He didn't want to get the necessary permits nor file the needed paperwork with the management office. Frankly the guy gave me the creeps. So much for him doing any work in my house.
Another phone call made to a different contractor . He said he would stop by to see what needed to be done. Never showed up for his appointment.
Finally I reached one with some kind of responsibility for his craft. He came by saw the job and now has to file the appropriate papers and get the permits that are needed.
Finding good help isn't easy. It can definitely test your patience especially when there are so many variables involved. Just one of those things I have to take ODAT.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Patience isn't one of my strong points. I can hardly wait until Sunday morning to get moved. I still have a lot of work to do because this apartment is so small I have no room to stack stuff and move around. It will be a trying few days and I will have to be patient with myself. No one can help me much because there isn't room for two people and stuff in here.
My friend told me the other day I wasn't a patient person, yet people have said they saw it as one of my strong points, so it looks like this is something I will have to take to my HP. It often takes someone else to show us what the blanket of denial prevents us from seeing for ourselves.

Thanks for the replies.
Lildee...I am sure having patience with contractors is tough. But to have patience with 2 teenage girls in the house...must be overwhelming at times. I can't imagine what my parents woudl ahve done if I had made a hole in the new ceramic tile wall. At the very least, I'd be paying that ocntractor for the repair.
And caressa...I can figure how NOT having patience is a strong point. I see impatience as a defect. The strongest stretch is that if I am impatience for things to happen in their own time I might pitch in a make it happen quicker? Taht's a stretch though. LOL I'd love to hear what the freinds meant that impatience is your strong point. Maybe it's jsut too early in the AM for me to think. lol
thanks so much for both of you posting. LIN

Patience and living in the moment seems to be paying off. I received a phone call today for a one bedroom apartment available on November 1st and I won't have to move into the YWCA.
It is geared to income housing and a senior complex which is close to downtown and my bridge club. I also know three people who live in the building, one couple (I was invited to their wedding 10 years ago and he belonged to the same group as me seven years ago) live on the same floor and the gentleman lives one floor below me.
