Ironically, I didn't want to post this. Was here earlier and came back to find a topic and this one glared at me.
I have been very lax in getting my laundry and dishes done and always seem to be washing only to dirty more. Tonight I made banana muffins after I came home from my group, which made more dishes still.
Here it is almost 5 a.m. and I haven't been to bed because I have been trying to play catch up with my mail and posting. I have a doctor's appointment at 1 p.m. tomorrow and so I had better get my buns promptly to bed.

I have to admit that I have been doing a little procrastinating myself. It just seems like I have come off the roller coaster with hubby's hospitalization and stay at home and some major home repairs, getting back into the swing of things is difficult. I did get my shopping done for Thanksgiving so I guess I am not too bad. LOL It just seems sometimes I can't think so far ahead , like I used too. I used to start Christmas shopping in late August or September. Now I just take things ODAT. When it happens it happens. Procrastinating ? Not completely sure ... maybe just moving at a slower pace, putting more thought into what I am doing.

This weekend my husband and I decided to beat the holiday shopping and get it all done, well that didn't pan out.. so I am going to say we will probably procrasinate till the last minute. It won't be the first time.

Living in the day, in the moment I don't think is procrastinating. Being in the moment and ignoring and putting off what is in front of you most certainly is. I always say, "If I don't see it, it doesn't happen!" All too often, I seem to have a blind eye.

I am definitely NOT a procrastinator. I start shopping for next Christmas during the Christmas sales the year before. (I have already bought two gifts for folks for NEXT year....not on sale..but something I think they will like.) Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I have 83 people and 14 pets shopped for and wrapped. My indoor decorations are almsot finished. I jsut have a few more ornaments and the tree will be finished. Today I will mail my Chirstmas cards and out of town packages. THEN i can enjoy the sales for next year or for me...or do some charity type things such as the tree at church.
A few years ago when my husband was drinking and drugging very badly I planned his funeral. I am not a last minute person. So i planned the songs, the pall bearers, who woudl sing, who would play the music, etc.; And i TOLD him my plans. I explained that I dont do last minute well...and I gave him the details I even showed him the suit I bought for myself to wear tot he funeral. The next day he checked into a rehab. That one lasted the longest of any he has ever done...about 2 years.
At work when i have a committee to serve on, I ahve the notes and outlines typed and turned in within hours. I plan lesson plans and run papers several weeks in advance.
I got this habit as a child. I learned if you are not prepared for jobs, h9olidays, etc. something will happen and it wont get done.
