The slogans are a living too and the slogan "Easy Does It"...but do it! helps me with my procrastination.
Today I have hopes of getting some baking done and have an appointment at 3:30 p.m. I have been frustrated with my doctor's office because they are suppose to be calling me with a referal to a specialist. I have called twice asking for the information but they have not returned my call. Seems I am not the only procrastinator.
Once I start something, I am much better finishing it, it is the getting started that is the problem.

I'm very much a DO IT person. I got this habit as a child. If I ever put things off until the last minute something not in my control seems to happen and it did not get done. Example...If I dont buy a birthday gift as soon as I get the invitation, there may be a snowstorm and I can't get out to shop. If I plan to clean for a weekend dinner party the day before, I may get sick and not fel like it thaT last day and it wont be as clean as I wanted. Instead i do little things every day for a week and by the weekend I jsut ned last minute things to finish. If I have a large dinner fo rmake like a Thanksgiving dinner for 12...I will buy those things I can buy a month early...as soon as I can...napkins, cans of sweet potatoes, olives, etc. That way the last minute meat and produce is all I have to buy. I also like to keep in mind that when I put of many jobs they get larger...laundry, cleaning, shoveling snow, dishes, etc. The more I put it off the longer I will have to work when I do it. So I do it when the job is small and it never gets to that point.
It's one of my character defects/assets to be overly organized. Sometimes is is a defect because I go overb oard. But most of the time it is an asset. It helps me get more accomplished.

ACK!! ;D
And here I am confessing that annual 4th step I'm working on is sitting on the night stand. Yep--I'd be procrastinating!!!!!!! LOL
It's the 'fears' part. Gimme resentments!! Gimme sex relations!!
Gimme a hammer and I'll whap myself so I get moving! LOL
Thanks--easy does it--but it IS 'NIKE' time! *going to work on the 4th step now!*
