It just came to me how much I am looking forward to moving to a new apartment on the weekend.
I also came to realize that I am looking forward to the new apartment as a beginning of changes in my life. The apartment can't make the changes, only I can do that. Just moving in doesn't do it, me setting new boundaries for me and others will.
Wherever I go, I take me with me.

I am a practical person so I try to be realistic in my everyday actions and thoughts. Unrealistic was when I kept doing the same things over and over and expecting to get different results.

Oh boy.
I'm pretty good at keeping my expectations of others where they need to be. It's my expectations of ME that I have a bit of a struggle with....but hard on ourselves, easy on others is the rule. Strive for perfection and accept less, eh?
Practice, practice, practice! LOL

In my Big Book, soft cover third edition, I highlited page 452 on acceptance and expectations. Everyone always quoted page 449, yet for me it was more about letting go of expectations so I could find acceptance. They changed the fourth edition and I don't know what page it is on now. I was given a copy but gave it away to a sponsee. I was given my book at six months sober when I left the YWCA and got my first apartment.
Good to see you posting graced.
