The attendance is way down at the two meetings I have chaired since EOR opened seveal years ago.
does anybody have any ideas how to promote ithe meetings better?
I post the topic on the message baords early on the day of it, I often send emails to those in my address book that have attended in the past. I try to pick topics that will reach many folks in different spots of their recovery. I show up 30 minutes early and wait to greet anybody who drops in looking for the meeting. And I faithfully show up. My shares always try to focus on the solution instead of the problem. they show my my e, s, & h helped in MY life.
All of that and then 1 or 2 will show up. Sometimes nobody shows up.
On the baords I see newcomers saying they want to come to t he emeting, and I psot the times and which room it is in. Do we need links at the top of alanon and acoa to the homepage and chatroom? Do we need links on a page where to get the JAVA if your computer is over 3 years old?
Kathleen used to send reminers to anybody on her list. But people complained that they had too much junk mail and wanted her to stop.
I'm not one who lets go and gives up easily, so I'm not ready to step down YEt, but i do wish the attendance woudl pick up.
if it's the time, then somebody else can do a later meeting. I'f it's somethig i am diong wrong, then tell me so i can improve.
