My name is Ron H., I'm a grateful member of AA from Pensacola/Pace, Florida
I've been sober 13 days I have been in and out of this program many times, this time I came back and was blessed with someone to show me the truth about this program and I was sick enough to hear it and take it this time. I'm on step 9, for the record, got alot of restitution to make. Glad to be here and I look forward to growing with you.
Ron H.

Thank you for sharing Ron. The best amend you can make is to stay sober. It is about forgiving yourself, God and others.
Congratulations on being sober. I had to work the other Steps to heal enough to find the forgiveness for myself. Recovery has to begin with you.
At first, Step Nine seem insurmountable to me. What I found helped was doing service. It was a way of making indirect amends to all those who were no longer in my life or those who were not willing to trust me in early recovery.
Amends isn't saying, "I'm sorry!" It was changing so that I didn't continue to make the same mistakes over and over again. For me, sorry did't cut it. I couldn't say I'm sorry until I could promise myself and my son, family and friends, that I would TRY my best not to abuse myself or others ever again.
My tongue was a real weapon. It tore strips off of people and I would go up one side and down the other and forget to put people back together again. Today I try to use my tongue for healing and helping others.
Looking forward to sharing with you.

Welcom Ron.
I am Ron, alki, from MN. Been sober long enough that I might be considered a fire hazzard. haha. But at one time I had less than 13 days. This much I do know. The program works to whatever degree I work it. I still go to 3 some times 4 meetings a week. I stopped going years ago for drinking. I go for attitude change and to also give back to others what others so freely gave me to me.
Congradulations and hope you keep popping in and posting. Think you an hour ahead of me but if you want to chat some night leave me a message. Other than Tuesday's I usually sit around and relax at night. Usually around between oooooooooooo 7 or 8 at night and I go to bed about 10.
Take care and hope you get a lot of meetings.
Ron
