SUNDAY CHIP---PRAISE/CRITICIZE Good chip for me today..... I do try to praise people, when ever I get a chance. I was in a market the other day, one I don't normally go to and one particular clerk just seemed to go out of his way to be helpful. I asked his name and thanked him for going the extra mile to be helpful and courteous, but I also commented at the main help desk about the man just to let his boss know what a good employee he was. The manager was pleasantly surprised that I would stop to praise this employ, most input he hears is the negative sort. My husband (of 35 years) is a wonderful man, I try to praise him daily. I also thank the good Lord for allowing us to find each other. He also has a few habits that drive me to distraction! Is nagging the same thing as criticizing? If the answer is yes, then I have been guilty of this. I try to bite my tongue, but it can get pretty sore before I realize I am doing it. Anyway, today I will try very hard to not be critical, but to remember to praise him for the many good things that he attempts to do.... Hugs, SunnyGirl

I also try to praise as often as possible Growing up I was not praised very often . I know how it feels if nobody every says somethign nice abut me. So , especially with my young students, I triy to praise as often as I can. I want it to be genuines...so Imake sue I praise for something specific.
Not sure if naggging is criticizing./ I guess it's according to the delivery of the nagging. If I'm asking (again) diod you order your med refils? I dont feel I am nagging, but he often does. I honestly dont think that is criticizing either. But if I nag abotu things like...why didnt' you take out the trash? that may be closer to a criticize.
Just my opinion.
