Well I am afraid I was judgmental for a while, only half an hour, but it left a very nasty feeling.
I left at 6:55 p.m. to wait for my bridge partner to pick me up. At 7:25 p.m. I went back to my apartment, mumbling and doing a little cursing, and wondering where he was along with the thoughts "I hope he wasn't in an accident and why didn't he phone me." Along with all that were thoughts of being stood up and ignored which led to looking at some old issues and asking for help with letting go of them. It was nice to know they didn't have the intensity they use to have.
When I got home, I checked my phone and no light was flashing to show a message so I picked up the phone and realized that there was a beeping on the line which showed I did indeed have a message. I checked for messages and it was from him saying, "I hope you remembered that tonight I am dining at the Scottish Rite and not able to play bridge. Do you want to play bridge tomorrow night. It is party night."
I realized that my son had unplugged the cord which gives me visual display of who called and allows me to have 50 callers programmed into my phone. I couldn't call him back because I didn't have the visual so I had to figure out what was wrong.\ with the phone. I finally found the unplugged cord which goes around the corner from my phone into the kitchen. He had come in and used the toaster and had unplugged my phone and hadn't put it back in. There would have been a time I would have ranted and raved for hours over this but all I did was bring to his attention that when he used something, put it back the way you found it.
I phoned my friend and told him, "Yes I did forget but that is okay. Saturday night is fine with me and would see him tomorrow."
