CHRISTMAS CHIP--SERENITY/CHAOTIC
I decided to go ahead and pull a chip today, before we leave for my Son's house. There will be a little chaos when we bring in the Christmas gifts for the Grandkids, but I am expecting it will calm down pretty quickly.
As far as me and my feelings, I am feeling pretty serene. I called the younger sister and made amends for the conversation we had the night before. She was drunk when she called me and made several accusations, which I felt I needed to call her on. Make a long story short, today I called to wish her a wonderful day and apologize for my part in the conversation. She didn't even remember calling me....
"Honey" and I had breakfast, gave our "fuzzy faced kids" their presents and played ball with them a little bit. ;D My cup runs over, I have been given so many blessings and Christmas is such a wonderful time for me to remember and thank God....
Have a wonderful Christmas, filled with peace and serenity!

Had a really nice CHristmas get together today. Even my son in law that has been sober about 5 months seem in good spirits and I mean that in a nice way. The center of attention this year was my little buddy. Only grandkid and the whole family loves the little guy. Even his maco uncles ( my #1 and #2 sons) think the world of the little feller. Even the weather was really really nice. We really haven't had much chaos in our family for many years. Drinking creates hell for all involved and working the AA program has effects that go around also. Can't change the past but sure do appreciate the present and the future looks good at this point.
Merry Christmas,
Ron

It was a contented day, everyone did their own thing. My son, his uncle (my bother-in-law), and my oldest niece's husband and my youngest niece's boyfriend were in the family room watching James Bond, my three nieces were playing two new games F*rt and Hum Bug and making their own noise in the kitchen and my sister and I were watching Gaither Reunion Video in the living room. There are no small children in our family although some of us are young in heart and haven't grown up yet.
We opened presents after everyone got there, had dinner and then each did their own thing and did what they wanted to do. We don't spend a lot of money on gifts. We choose to give to others who don't have either with time, energy, and/or money.
