Friday Chip---Trustworthy/Prone to gossip
How do you define gossip?
gos·sip
1. a person who chatters or repeats idle talk and rumors,
esp. about the private affairs of others
2. such talk or rumors.... chatter
I've always considered myself to be trustworthy person.
If I am told something in confidence and asked never to
repeat the conversation, my lips are sealed.
I think my problem lies in definition #1..... I don't consider
it gossip if the talk pertains to family by family. Specifically,
long distance conversations about the daily lives of family
members. I'll call and talk to my sister (out of state)
and will ask general questions... how's Mom ...... what's
new in the saga of my younger Sis and her hubby!.
Sis will ask about the family here in Vegas and I keep her
up to date on all of us out here. No Problem? Right?
?
The younger Sis accuses me and the other Sis of gossiping
about her. Maybe it is gossip? Maybe I am just concerned
about how she is doing? Now that I'm writing this, I am
beginning to feel a tad bit guilty about even mentioning her
name in a conversation. I wish her nothing but good things
in her life and I take no pleasure when I hear about her
newest picadillo...... Maybe I should just quit even mentioning
her name, but somehow that doesn't feel right......
Just for today, I want to believe I am trustworthy.......
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl
