Wednesday Chip---Helpful to others/Self-indulgent
Being helpful to others makes me feel good about myself, but I need to weigh things over before committing. At times I have ended up doing more than I should have, to my own detriment.
I love the message boards and the concept of reaching out to others.... If I can share some of the road blocks I've hit along the way and it helps them to make a detour, I've done my part. Anyone can need a hand up, I'd like to be there to offer my support and share my ESH.
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

Well I was on the self-indulgent side and as the saying goes, what goes around comes around. One of the little things in life that just happen.
I went to my luncheon today with four other volunteers from CAP. We went in a van and because of the guys has a bigger problem with his legs than I do, he got the front seat. I had to go to the very back because the two other girls were too wide to squeeze through and they sat in the middle seats.
It wasn't too bad getting on and out going there but on the return trip I was afraid I was going to lose my two plates of Chinese Food, my plate of dessert and my green tea. I came home and was so tired I couldn't sit at the computer and went to bed with all those tasty treats laying heavy in my stomach, which we know is not a good and healthy decision. I slept for two hours. Yesterday I got the movie Mama Mia to watch. When I woke up, I needed to have it back for midnight, I decided to watch it. I had planned to watch it in the afternoon and take it back before dark, plus it turned very, very cold. I got 2/3s of the way through the cd and static started happening, I got near the end and it stuck and wouldn't start playing again. I took it back. The guy says, "I have another disk, do you want to take it." I said, "No, I enjoyed it but not enough to go back and watch it again to see the ending." As I was leaving, he said, "I'll put a credit on your account so you can have a new release the next time you are in." I was wondering why not now, but then he may have sold out and I didn't want to sound silly by asking. Talk about an old tape.
The all you can eat buffet was delicious. It is one of my favorite places to eat. I didn't go to my Al-Anon meeting because I wanted to go for Chinese Food. Maybe there was a message in all this?

I can't think of to many area's in my life where I am self-indulgent. My favorite food would be chocolate brownies, but I only make them maybe 4 times a year. I don't get hungry! I skip breakfast and lunch and have dinner about 5pm.... On days that I go out to lunch I don't have anything for dinner. Food is fuel, I have to eat to keep going, but food has never excited me. What's really bizarre is "Honey" is a chef and he specializes in Italian food. His scampi picante and veal marsala is said to be out of this world. H.U.G.S. ~SG~
