My husband was put in lock-in Wednesday night. He tried to committ suicide and bye drinking to death, almost succeeding. He is in de-tox in the lock-in section of the hospital. I found out that I am co-dependent. And all I knew was, that I am an alcoholic. I detached myself from my husband because of his drinking February 2003. And was 1,600 miles away. Well folks, it still caught up with me. Can you believe it! So Now I am dealing with all this, and trying to remain sober all in the middle of this. What a double whammy, Thanks for all your prayers, in the prayer section. Love Suz

Dear Suz, Most alcoholic and addicts are Codependent, it is perfectly normal. Not that it is good, but it is reality. There is help out there and many books and good material on the subject. I have opened a new web site on CoDA and unhealthy relationships a week ago, but haven't been well enough to do too much posting yet. groups.msn.com/TheAngelofPerfectionI have the material for the Twelve Step Program and hope to be able to start posting again.

( ( ( ( ( Suzanne ) ) ) )
Mornin sweetie,
I thought of you when I woke up this morning, and said a prayer, that everything is just as it should be for you today. There's a saying, more will be revealed", I don't know why this is happening in your life, but someday you will find the answer and grow from the experience.
Lin's answer was perfect, "co-dependency is not fatal". Just as with the alcoholic/addict, we do recover!
In the "Recovery Questions" section on the board I did post some information on codependency, you might want to check it out.
Sending healing hugs, Sunnygirl
