Tuesday Chip---Open-minded - gracious / Smug - stubborn
I used to take pride in my stubbornness, I’d say “I come by it Honestly.” Now when I dig my feet in, I prefer to call it tenacious . A kinder word, but it can still be a defect in my character.
I have to keep going back to this chip and remind myself that others have the right to their own thoughts and feelings. Although I may not agree with them, I have to learn to be more open-minded and gracious. Life is full of compromise….. If we don’t learn how to bend on the small stuff, when the big bumps begin it makes for a rough ride on the road to recovery…..
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

I try to be gracious and open minded, but I think lately I have had a few instances when i felt wronged that I was a bit on the stubborn side. Thanks for this chip today. I need to work on it.

Should have read this before I went to bridge. I have a newish partner who takes so long and is oh so slow. I can laugh at my own mistakes but don't find it so easy to laugh at his, especially when he takes me to task for my play. He is quite new to the game and he took a course on Easy Bridge. I didn't take the course and I am not sure the partnership will be able to continue because we just don't seem to be on the same page. He is a very intelligent man. He likes to think things out and deliberates to such an extend he slows down the game. I am an in the moment person, very intuitive and if I don't listen to myself, I generally end up in trouble. We are at two different ends of the spectrum and yet we have had some very good results. It sure helps me practice patience and tolerance.
I think he is the stubborn one but I have been known to be contrary in my day.
