A is for AWARENESS>...I have to be AWARE of a defect or a problem in my life before I can even start to change it.
Awareness is the first step in changing something.

A is for Attitude. I was going to start this yesterday, but had a closed mind about talking about it until I saw it reflected in the woman I met today. As you say Lin, you have to be aware of a problem before you can change it.

B is for BOUNDARIES>.i set them to keep my own peace of mind and my own serenity. I let others know what they can and cannot cross. Then I have to be ready to follow thru if they overstep those boundaries.

D is for Determine. I was determined not to go back to where I came from. I was determined not to pick up and was willing to go to any length to not use. I was a very determined person and some of my negative defects like stubbornness and contrariness stood me in good stead.

F is for Fix. All my life I was looking for a quick fix. I used people, places and things to make me feel better. I learned to fix me by working the Steps in all my affairs.

J is for Jest. It was a real gift to be able to laugh at myself and learn to practice Rule 62. I thought my sponsor was a real Jester when she suggested some of the things she did.

I have always heard, carry the Message but not the Messenger. I like that, thank you! My sponsor always said not to look at the messenger but be open to listen to the message no matter who is carrying it.
