I cant count how many times I have made new years resolutions and they lasted only a few months. This year I have made one that was made clearly needed this week.
My one area of procrastination is in not checking off the checks when the envelope from the bank comes. I also use the debit card almost daily and wait several weeks to write them down. This week by chance i checked my balance and it was very near bouncing checks! I went to t he credit union and took some out of savings and made a quick deposit. Lucky for me..i checked today and some bills I paid earlier this week were picked up by that deposit.
So........... my new years resolution is...when I get a bank statement I will check it off within a week and I will also write down my debits within a week. 4 or 5 months can really make for some SURPRISES! lol
Do you have any new years resolutions?

Mornin Lin,
I found this while I was waiting for EOR to get back online this mornin.....
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
New Year Resolutions
I will not swear, I will not smoke, I will not crack a naughty joke, I will not drink a drop of booze, my temper I will never lose.
I will not gamble, steal or lie nor cheat my neighbor on the sly, I'll help the poor with lavish hand and for the right will take my stand.
I will not knock against my town, but try to keep dissension down, of people's faults I will not talk nor spit upon the floor or walk and thus distribute deadly germs; nor patronize mail order firms.
I'll try to be a moral guide, a beacon, shining far and wide. I'll seek the right and shun the wrong and make this life one happy song. The virtuous path today I'll seek and walk in it .... perhaps a week.

In answer to your question, NO, I didn't make new year resolutions. When I was younger, I did, but it seems they always got put aside.
I will set a few goals for myself, as I see the need arrise throughout the year. I have been working for a week around here, trying to streamline my closets and drawers. Got rid of a bunch of clothes I havent worn in years and went thru my linens and got rid of a bunch of twin sheets (I haven't owned a twin bed since I got rid of the boys bunk beds almost 20 years ago) ;D It is my goal to make my entire house and life as simple as I can......
Happy New Year....... Cherie

I don't like to make promises to myself that I can't keep!! I havent' done a New Years resolutions in many years cuz I always felt like I was failing myself for not following thru, so.. I just stick with the "keep it simple" motto it seems to be a better way of me doing the things I need to do a little better. Happy New Years !!

Thanks for the replies Sunnygirl and DG., Your replies make sense. I hope I can keep mine. After I made the resolution, I got the last 5 months of bank statements and checked them all off. WHEW! For a non -procrastinator I sure to put that chore off! And the bad part was finding things I forgot to write down.........EEK.

New Year's resolutions. I rarely make pointed resolutions as I usually don't follow through, but I am going to keep my household organized this year. I began putting things in their place and taking care of work around here as soon as it was needed during the end of last year, and found it to be very helpful to tend to business right away, so I want to continue to do that. I'm also cleaning out stuff that I no longer use or want to free up room in my home. Welcome 2004 and organization! Saralee

Specific New Year's resolutions never work for me as they get left behind rather quickly. This year, I will keep it general and plan to keep working in the direction I have been going to the best of my ability. One Day At A Time!!
Happy New Year to all!!
