A is for: Acceptance -vs- Apathy
“Some people confuse Acceptance with Apathy, but there's all the difference in the world. Apathy fails to distinguish between what can and what cannot be helped; Acceptance makes that distinction. Apathy paralyzes the will-to-action; Acceptance
frees it by relieving it of impossible burdens.” - - Arthur Gordon

D is for Discovery. Discover the real you. Not the one you think you are. Not the one your old tapes say you are. Not the you that is projected onto you by others.
Discover the you that your Higher Power knows and loves. Do the Steps.

L is for Look, Listen, and Learn. When we become aware to what is around us, there are so many lessons to be learned. When I open my mind to new things, I also need to open my eyes to see, ears to hear, and mouth to communicate what I have learned with others.

I is for OPEN...being OPEN to new ideas, open to receive the gifts of recovery. I can't receive any of those gifts if I am closed minded. It's like haveing clenched fists and trying to catch a butterfly. It jsut can't happen.

P is for Polite. A little manners go a long way! It says 'Attraction rather than promotion' so if I am rude, judgmental, and walking in my disease, I do not carry a recovery story.

R is for Reality. When I live in reality and stay grounded in the moment, I am better able to focus on my day and have a better perspective of what is and what is happening. When I live in fear (False evidence appearing real) and not in faith, then I go back to that old way of living with no faith and no hope. Life is right now!
