This really spoke to me when I read it. How many times in the past have I made decision based on old tapes. This is how I should act. This is how I should feel. This is how a good woman should.... How many times in the past I was told I shouldn't feel. Don't cry, you use it as a weapon. It's not right to be angry. It is not okay to be sad. So many times in my life, people didn't validate my feelings and told me to change them or didn't acknowledge them. I was discounted, rejected, or ignored. When this happened in the past, I drank, ate or smoked to stuff the feelings. The hurt and the pain had to be brought out of the darkness into the light in order to heal. Today I don't need to receive validation from someone outside of myself. I can affirm myself. I don't limit who I am by my feelings. Attachments:

A good reason to work the program. The basic Steps 1, 2, & 3 for a foundation, to work the Steps 4-9. Then you have the maintenance Steps 10-12. To maintain a sober life, I found that I needed to work the last three before I finished working and applying Steps 4-9.

You can't lose what you don't have. It talk a long times for my feelings to come. They were buried very deeply.
