For so many years, I was focused on the other people in my life and what they did wrong. Didn't realize how much it ate up my own soul and blocked me spiritually. My sponsor use to say "Examine your motive and intent." It generally lead back to me not getting what I wanted or thought I needed. I stayed sick for many years. I qualified for the program almost 20 years before I got here. I thought I was deserving and yet I got to a stage where I didn't think I deserved recovery. This disease is progressive. If you haven't done it yet, there is a good chance you will end up there in the not too distant future. recoveryinn.yuku.com/topic/3662

You should not have your own idea when you listen to someone.... To have nothing in your mind is naturalness. Then you will understand what he says.
—Shunryu Suzuki
Osho says we should come from a place of nothingness. When my head is empty, my thoughts can't get in the way of what my Higher Power is trying to communicate to me. When I am full of self, my head can get busy and shut off my perspective, my reality, and God's will.
