My son-in-law, Frank, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. They still have not set the date for surgery, mentally he is already feeling defeated, as he buried his mother (died of cancer) less than a year ago....
Please remember him in your prayers....
Peace on the journey, Cherie

Not sure just exactly when the surgery is scheduled, but they have done all the pre-testing for surgery and the date is fast approaching.... I believe he is a little more optimistic, I keep reminding him to find his "happy place" and not allow the dark thoughts in. My daughter is holding up pretty well but would do better if she would stay off of the medical sites. Please keep them in your prayers as they navigate thru this horrible cancer scare.
Hugs and love to each of you.... Cherie

Frank had surgery today, the operation lasted much longer than was anticipated and needless to say my daughter was very upset. I tried to calm her down.... They ended up having to take the entire lung and his doctor said he had never in his entire career seen anything like it. Much scar tissue involved and was no typical cancerous tumor but multiple growths? ? His lung will be biopsied and perhaps we'll know more.... The surgery took over 8 hours and my daughter said the doctor looked exhausted. Please keep Frank in your prayers, he is not out of the woods yet. They will keep him in intensive care for a minimum of 4 days.... Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

Had wonderful news last night....
Daughter called to say the pathology report came back and there was NO CANCER. Massive amounts of scar tissue, they say most likely came from bad lung infection. But, unless it occurred as a young boy, he has no memory of ever being sick with pneumonia or any lung infection. The lung failed to reinflate so had to be removed regardless. John Wayne had one lung removed and lived a good long life....
Needless to say but, I am so grateful to have a loving God who once again has given my family a miracle.... Thank You Lord!
Thank you all for your prayers and once again we know that prayer works....
Sending hugs and good thoughts to each of you, Cherie

Many thanks for your prayers Caressa.....
Just wanted to let you know that Frank came home from the hospital yesterday and is on the mend. It will still take a little time for him to get back on his feet but he is determined.
Yep, I am a firm believer that God led them to this doctor and that Frank has been given a new lease on life. I am so grateful for all the blessings our family has been given. All we had to do was ask HIM and have the faith that we would be given what we need! Hugs, SG
