What to expect at our on-line meetings....
Many of you have no idea as to what to expect from
an online meeting and it can be absolutely terrifying
not knowing what they are like. I'd just like to say,
you will not find a more kind hearted or caring group of
people anywhere..... the following is from our meeting
notes:
There are no must's in the on-line meetings.....
You aren't required to speak, some learn much more by just
listening. We do have a "suggested topic" each week, the
topic will will always relate in some way, to 12-step recovery
topics....(slogans-steps-etc)
I have volunteered to chair this meeting and after the opening
statement I will ask: "Who would like to share first"....
By typing an exclamation point ! .... you are effectivly raising
your hand. When you are done sharing.... many will just type
the word "done" or "thank you for lisening, done".
The meetings last appoximately one hour or when ever those
attending have no more sharing to do. I will then close the
meeting with the following statement:
Most of us type the word, Amen..... and the meeting is over!
Often there is some conversation after the meeting, just
an informal get-together-chat.... When I am leaving for
the night I usually try to make a graceful exit, by just saying,
"have a great night, gotta run! byeeeeeeee"... ;D
We are not a formal group, but we do love to welcome
newcomers with great big (((((Newcomer)))))) ->hugs
Hope you will join us for a meeting soon...
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

Welcome to our Open 12-step Recovery Meeting.......
Our groups primary purpose is to share our experience,
strength and hope, with others still suffering.
We are an anonymous fellowship. Everything that is
said here, in the group meeting and member to
member, must be held in confidence.
Only in this way can we feel free to say what is in our
minds and our hearts, for this is how we help one
another.

In closing, I would like to say that the opinions
expressed here were strictly those of the person
who gave them.
Take what you like and leave the rest. The things
you heard were spoken in confidence and should
be treated as confidential.
Keep them within the walls of this room and the
confines of your mind. Will all who care to join me
in the closing prayer!
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot
change. Courage to change the things I can and the
wisdom to know the difference.
