"I can't help it" . . . that's what we all say when we don't want to exert ourselves. —Eva Lathbury This is the same as hearing someone say, "What do you expect? I'm an addict/alcoholic you know! When I here that, I want to go grrrrrrrrrrrrr........! I try not to project on to others but for me recovery is about working the program, applying the Steps, and asking a Higher Power to help change our lives. When I heard my sponsor say that at an AA conference I made the decision to let her go as my sponsor. When I hear that, I feel that people are not willing to change and don't want to get better. I want sobriety. I wanted more than putting a plug in the jug. Sobriety offers so much more. Attachments:

Smiling today, I remember all the times, I pushed on next, next, next, to try to get to a new post. I didn't know that when it said, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.....20, that I could click on a dot, a window would give me a choice as to what page I wanted to go to. When you have 20 or more pages, it is difficult sometimes to make a choice. I had to change my way of thinking, keep an open mind, and I got the thought, "This is a one day at a time program. You need to stay in the moment, so I would look at the time on my computer, like now, it says 9:18 as I type this. So 9 + 1 + 8 = 18 and I can chose that page, or take it a step further and go 18 = 1 + 8 = 9. I had to change my thinking. I had to learn to live in today and not project into the future or drag my past along with me. That meant letting go, and remembering, it is one day at a time. The words from the past posts, are still valid in today. When they were posted, they were good for that 24 hours. So many of them speak to me, I am glad that I got the thought to seek the wisdom of the board. Help is there if I just extend my narrow vision, and open my mind and change them to new things and ways of living. I think it is a spiritual moment, when I see numbers like, 111, or 222, or 123, 101, and so many more. This is an 18: This is a 9:
