I love the slogan "Easy Does It", it's a great reminder for me! I have a bad habit of trying to make things turn out the way I want them to. I may have been a general in a former life, I certainly like to try to figure out the best possible plan for solving problems, mine and other people's as well..... I need to remember no one put me in charge and it's not my responsibility to save the world. My "BIG IDEA" is not always the best one! If I would just back off and take a little more patient stance on things, life would be a whole lot simpler....
When I am not using the tool's of recovery, I find myself starting to slip and take on more that I should be. When this happens it's like getting my car stuck in sand and the wheels just spin round and round and I get no where fast.
It's days like this that I need to ease down on the brakes and slow down. If I'd take a step back and gain a little perspective, I could probably laugh at the way my mind can confuse a situation. I need to take a deep breath, lighten up and tell myself to quit turning a crack in the road into a crevice.
Have a great day...... SG

LOL! I was told that I was a gypsy or a fortune teller! I have control issues too. My mother use to say do it right or don't do it at all. So most times I didn't but when I did, watch out. I was Zone Sports Officer for 13 branches of the Legion and got up and spoke to over a 100 people. A real trip for an alcoholic. I am in charge. I can tell others what to do. I put on dart, bowling, euchre and cribbage tournaments. Had my own dart, euchre and cribbage team. Qualified to go to Provincial with darts, won a district trophy for euchre and won Zone three times and came third another time in the four years I was involved.
For me it is easy does it, but do it! It was the doing that I considered a choice, not the easy doing of it. I had to check the work of the 4 other people in my department before it was sent out. A real power trip being proof reader even of the bosses work. They called me odd job Jo because I worked for every department in the office but Quality Control. It was my job to teach the new person in the department no matter what job it was. They would let people go and expect me to train them and do my job too. As my disease progress, it was thank God for correction tape.

Easy does it, is just a very brief reminder for me to not to create a crisis out of an incident. I may have to act but just don't react.... Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl
