U is for Understanding. It was important to find the God of my understanding. Not the God you understand, not the God of my childhood, not the God of the local church, but the God of my understanding. The one who works in my life and who my trust and faith in Him allows me to find it within myself. I no longer have to live in fear.

W is for Willing. That is the topic of the day but it is something I need to maintain daily. A willingness to stay sober. A willingness to turn things over to my Higher Power. A willingness to go to any length to maintain my sobriety. A willingness to change. Attachments:

X is for Xystus. It actually means terrace and is a Greek word. There are several level and stages we go through in our recovery. The first three months is often what they call being on a pink cloud. There apparently was a Pope called that too at one time although that has no significance to me, it may make it special to someone else. I chose the pink elephants because they are associated with drinking. They are also a symbol of never forgetting.
