...we sometimes hear reports of "research" done by a member who breaks abstinence in order to find out whether he or she is still a compulsive overeater. The experiment invariably proves that once a compulsive overeater, always a compulsive overeater. Among the results are remorse, regained weight, and weakened control.
Food For Thoughtwww.hazelden.org/web/public/thought.view?catId=1903I left out the words in OA, because I think this is true of any subsance abuse. Again, the substance is but a symptom of our disease. It is amazing how we can justify and rationalize our way back to using or to continue to using because we can't.... It kept me sick for many years. Food is one area that I have always had to be watchful of especially now that I am diabetic. It isn't the diabetes, it is my thinking behind my eating that cause cause the damage when I don't eat right. It is a slow suicide whether I eat too much or eat not enough or eat the wrong things.

Research is always good for a relapse no matter what substance you use.
