My lessons are not easy. But they will ease my way. Better days begin, by Karen Casey
How good it is that I can't wear out the Serenity Prayer.
It is even more awesome that I can start a day any time.
It is important for me to remember to take the focus off others and bring it back to myself and what I need to change in my life. So often I have to pray for the willingness to be willing to make the change. It is so important to recognize and acknowledge things in my life, be honest about them, surrender them to my Higher Power and accept them for what they are. More importantly for me, accept me for who I am in today and know that it is alright to be who and what and where I am in today.
I am not my disease. I am not my son's disease. I am not my father's disease.
Life lessons happen when I am open to receiving them. As the saying goes, "I have to let go in order to have an open hand to receive." God's Grace is there. The Goodness of Prayer is all around me. I need to be open to receive it!
God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.
I will to will my God's Will today.

I need to be open to receive it! A wonderful share Caressa..... The part quoted really jumped out at me! I am not open to blessings when I have a closed fist or am shaking my fist at God. Opening my heart and learning God's will for me is so important for my recovery. Stomping my feet and acting like a child does not take me anywhere but down the wrong road..... Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

They say we are to have an open mind, I think we need to open our heart and our hand. I think that sometimes we need to open our eyes and open our mouths to share with other times, and then there are the times to have the wisdom to know when to have them shut.

We let go so we have an empty hand to receive our God's Grace.
Great lesson.
