U is for Understanding. Learning to "understand" my God began when I was one year sober and realized "I didn't know who God is." I came to the understanding that God was an old tape and that God had always been what other people told me God was. My mother, the men in our church, pastors of different churches, all had their own views and to who God was. I started on a spiritual quest to find out who my God was to me and I am still on that 'Quest!"

V is Victorious. We can have victory over this disease, by working the Steps. We get daily reprieve from various 'isms' that make up our dis-ease.

W is for Welcome. It is important to take time to welcome newcomers to the group. Whether they are new to recovery or just new to the area, it is important to reach out and make them welcome. My sponsor reminded me that I am only HALF a handshake. Without you, there is no me! Attachments:

X is for X-Ray. I need to look beneath the surface and take an inward journey. Recovery is an inside job. Loved this picture. It reminds me of the phrase "I'm coming to get you ahah! ahah! It also tells me that what I see on the outside isn't necessarily what I will find. So many masks and role playing hide the person beneath. I may be smiling, but I am hurting.

Y is for Yet. You may not have done 'that' Yet! If you make the decision to go back out, who knows where you will end up. Have you had enough yet! Do you still want to wallow in your misery?
