It's been some time ago but we had a very good discussion
on the merit's of medical marijuana...

Now California is trying to legalize it for anyone
of legal age (21)....

Most Americans still oppose legalizing marijuana, but cash
strapped California is using it as a tax incentive to put more
more in their coffers. The state is broke, therefore they will
go to any length for more money.

It's my understanding that the federal law still considers
pot as an illegal drug and I am not sure how any state can
make a law that is in total disregard to a federal law.

Marijuana use impairs perception, judgment, thinking and
memory! All this world needs is another legal drug that
can cause more lives to be shattered by "impaired thinking."

Hopefully there are enough responsible adults that don't
smoke cannabis that will put the possibility of legalized pot
out of the question. VOTE NO TO LEGALIZE POT

Like you, I can't see why they want to legalize any drug. They say 'pot' is safe. My son use to say it is natural and God given. I said not when you get it, it is man made.

I have a friend who has been prescribed it at bedtime. She is on heavy duty medication for pain. Every time I talk to her she is stoned. She wanted me to go with her yesterday to Walmart. I don't want to get into the car with her. I told her that I didn't think she should be driving.

You can not have soundness of mind and smoke a joint. All it did for me when I tried it was make my violent sick at my stomach and gave me a major migraine, so bad I had to let my husband drive home, even though he was drunk. I was just not able to drive or I would never have allowed him behind the wheel. It was only about three blocks or I wouldn't have let him do drive at all. I had been drinking since noon. The son of my friend's husband by his first marriage showed up with a bag of what he claimed to be Columbia's finest at 10 p.m. where we had gone after leaving the Legion. He is a school teacher. I had a resentment because I lost all my dinner and my booze!

Every time I think about legalized pot, it makes me wonder
"what's next"! Crack... Meth.... Cocaine? Nevada has
legalized prostitution in some counties, but it is still illegal
in the majority. Legalizing it did not stop women in the other
counties from selling their bodies nor does it bring in greater
tax revenues.

Legalizing marijuana will put even more of it on the streets
and will give teens an even better chance of buying it.
It's proven fact that young people have problems with
concentrating on school work when they are smoking it.

I can't se why they should ever legalize somethign that is mind altering. IT's a drug for God's sake. IF they legalize will they have age limits on it too? Or will 8 year olds be able to smoke pot???

Ridiculous. Even for medical uses, I can't imagine makeing it legal.
