T is for Tenacity. We need to hold on tightly to this program and never let it go. With one hand in the hand of another alcoholic/addict and the other hand in the hand of my Higher Power, I don't have any hands left to pick up with.

U is for Unique. I am not unique in the fact that I am an alcoholic/addict/codependent/caregiver. I am unique in the fact that no one else has walked my journey. It is my story, it is my perception, and my understanding of what I have met along the way.

U is for: Uphill The battle of life is, in most cases, fought Uphill; and to win it without a struggle were perhaps to win it without honor. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved. - - Samuel Smiles

V is for Vanity. It will get me every time. Not in a good way! It is good to be grateful for what we have and to remember to give thanks every day. Yet when we get caught up in self and how we look, our vanity and pride can pull us into dangerous thinking.
It is what is inside that counts. The beauty shines through. We can have good look outside and the ugliness inside will show through. We are all Children of God and loved for who we are not as we would have ourselves be.

W is for Watchful. Be ever watchful of complacency, using dreams, and signals that appear along your recover road that tell you that your sobriety is in jeoprody. Wishful thinking, wishng my life away, and wanting thngs I don't have are all signs that I need to put some gratitude into my attitude.

Z is for Zebra. He reminds me that everything is not always black or white. It can be white or black. Recovery for me was learning that there were shades of gray. It wasn't about right or wrong, either/or, should/shouldn't. It was about what is good for me in the moment.
