"We don't have to settle for the limitations of the past. We can examine and reexamine our old ideas."
Basic Text, p.11
Most of our limitations are a result of our childhood and our journey to the doors of recovery. We remember things from our past and bring them into today which imposes a barrier that prevents us moving forward and making changes and think we can't.
Old tapes are killers. We see something through the eyes of the past instead of the eyes of today. Today we have a Higher Power who guides, directs, leads, and is with us every step of the way if we allow Him into our lives.
We limit ourselves by our beliefs and those old tapes that say we can't, we are not capable, we are not smart enough, we are not worthy, we are not brave enough, etc.
The strength and courage comes from our Higher Power. Through Him/Her, all things are possible.
When we come upon a situation that happened in our past, don't compare it to yesterday, look at it from a new perspective in today.
I can't, God can, we can do it together.

Limitations are of my own making. Through my God, all things are possible. As my favorite slogan says, "Each day is a new beginning." I like to add, "so have a great one." I do have freedom of choice. I like the last part, it is so true. We fear things in today, because we relate to it from the view of a past event, forgetting that we have a program and we have a Higher Power that will see us through it if He brings us to it.

Labels limit us, our outlook at life and at ourselves limit us. Maybe that is why they ask us to have an open mind.
