"You can never get to peace and inner security without first acknowledging all of the good things in your life. If you're forever wanting and longing for more without first appreciating things the way they are, you'll stay in discord." -- Doc Childre and Howard Martin eor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spuds&action=display&thread=9498&page=1Without finding some gratitude, will will always be in a place of anxiety. I can find no peace without accepting what is in the moment, acknowledge it and for me, thank my Higher Power for it. I don't believe He/She/It tests us, I think we test our HP. Part of that is not having the gratitude for what is given to us and as the reading says, "Always wanting more" and not being content with what is in the moment. My disease is more. I learned it at a young age. It was always about the other person, never about me, I was not important enough. It is okay to be me in today. I am grateful that the program gave me back my self. It is up to me to work the Steps and get my sense of self and be happy with who I am in today. The Steps help me to work toward a higher sense of self and well being and for that I am grateful.

When I'm given a gift, I never fail to say thank you!
My grandson was playing on the lawn and handed me a small handful of yellow flowers, (turned out they were dandelions) he was so proud of giving me this gift. He would have been so disappointed had I not given him a big smooch and thanked him warmly.
My God is a loving God, and not a day goes by that I don't receive blessings in abundance. Not always are they big mind blowing blessings, but just simple things that many people take for granted. A beautiful sunrise or sunset, our health, food on our table, things we expect to be there each day.
Gratitude = Happiness..... Most of the time this is true but sometimes we have something happen in our life that doesn't bring us immediate happiness. Just because we don't recognize a situation, we begin to feel that life threw us a curve ball and we go into a funk. But just like the saying, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade", make the most out if everything that happens in life. Yep, each day is a gift.... You should always try to turn a bad situation around into something better. You should make the most of what you're given. By just putting a little bit of effort into it and a whole lot of acceptance, something good can always comes out it.
That lemonade is tastier than lemons on their own
