Free
from: "A Late Start"
"I am free to laugh all my laughter, free to trust and be trusted, free to both give and receive help. I am free from shame and regret, free to learn and grow and work. I have left that lonely, frightening, painful express train through hell. I have accepted the gift of a safer, happier journey through life."

Freedom! The concept is what kept me coming back. I found real hope in the fact that I may come to a place in my life where I felt free to be myself. Not only free from the bondage of addiction, but free to be me and not look to others for validationand approval. Free to live my life as I choose, free to make healthy choices and do what was good for me. Free to transform from an introverted person to someone who could be caring and giving.

Still love the AA Promises, especially the first one. "I will know a new freedom and a new happiness."

Freedom from active addition. Put some gratitude into your attitude.
