Feeling sad at the moment, so hope to change that around today. It is more about a feeling than a defect of character. The defect I guess would be if I chose to stay in it and have a pity party. Even the happy can be a mask, when I put it on to hide the hurt inside. As the old saying goes, if I don't laugh I will cry. Have known many people who were the "good old boy" and chose to play the role of jokester and funny man and want you to be their straight man. A good indicator that they are avoiding some issues they don't want to look at. There is a good old sense of humour and the gift of laughter in recovery. A feeling which is good and it is real and not canned. Attachments:

There are sad events and situations in life...and they are reminders that we have a place to go with that sadness where we can be comforted. Then we can dance with rejoicing that we do not have to carry that sadness around. When we surrender that sadness to Him we can be filled with hope, with peace and with joy....then we get to carry that message of hope to others....We can see sadness as another stepping stone towards the sunlight of the spirit

Happy/Sad
“I always have two lists: things I’m happy about and things I’m not. It’s my choice which list I focus on.” —Anne Arthur
All in all, I am a pretty happy person, wouldn't call it bliss, but just a general sense of well being. Most times, when I am feeling down or blue, it's due to some sort of outside condition contributing to it.... People sharing their bad news with me, watching the news and seeing all the bad things happening in the world. I choose not to keep the focus on the bad.... I can offer others comfort, I can offer prayers and I have resorted to humor, trying to cheer people up. I am a firm believer in the fact that we are responsible for making our own happiness. I know I can not put that responsibility on others......
Today I am happy! I have nothing special to make me feel this way, but I get up each day with a positive attitude and just seems to carry me through the day. I may have a few bad moments in a day, but haven't had a truly dark and sad day in a very long time..... Peace on the journey, SG

Happy/Sad Feeling happy in the moment, at least I am not sad, not sure if it extends to happy or not. Certainly, not sure it is a happy-go-lucky kind of day! I just finished pizza with garlic sauce, so that made me happy. I am watching tennis, and that always makes me tennis. What makes me more than happy is the waiting to watch the Gaither Gospel Hour, which has just finished recording. There is also Macgyver to look forward to, so no reason to be sad in the moment.
