God, as understood by each of us, has the Power to heal our bodies, minds, and hearts. Once we realize that we are sick, we can open ourselves to the Power, which will affect our recovery. As we delve more deeply into the OA program, we see that it is not only the body, which suffers from the disease of compulsive overeating. Mind and emotions are also muddled and in need of God's cleansing. Food for Thought Love the words "God's cleansing." I can't, God can, just for today, I choose to let Him. If I could have fixed my disease myself, I would have done it a long time ago. As it points out here, it is a mental, emotional, and spiritual disease as well as a physical one. I need to heal on all levels. To do that I need the 12 Steps, they are a blueprint to a healthy way of living. In today, I can get the thought, but I don't have to follow it up with action. I am given freedom of choice. If I hesitate and meditate about what I am doing, I have a defense against that next 'drug' and it is me making the choice, not my addiction. www.hazelden.org/web/public/thought.view?catId=1903

It is sad that these links don't work.
I was not allowed to post the readings in their entirety, so linked them to Hazelton. Didn't know that they changed daily and if you didn't read it the day it was posted, it was lost.
We don't always have the freedom we think we have. That is why it best to live in the moment, in today.

Pray for this and ask that any barriers, blocks, and unhealthy thinking be removed, so I am better able to walk the journey of recovery.
