P is for People. When I was using, I used people, places and things just as much as I used alcohol and pills. I looked to people to make me happy, to make me feel loved, for affirmation and validation. I found security and comfort in places such as my bed, my apartment, and at work, and never wanted to leave there. Work meant more money, which meant more security.
