A is for Acceptance. I don't have to like it to accept it. Just for today, I can't drink and drug safely. Just for today, I choose not to use. I accept my disease. I accept the program and I am willing to apply it to my life.

C is for Care. We put our life into our God Care. We don't ask Him to do it for us. We ask Him to watch over us. We pray and ask for guidance, strength, courage, direction, and what ever else we need to see us through each day. He cares for us. His love is unconditional.

E is for EASY DOES IT. Tha' ts very important and recovery and for everybody this time of year. Yesterday at WW we talked about feeling worthy of making good choices. One person said Lucille Ball had a note on her bathroom mirror that said IS THIS GOOD FOR ME? It's a good one to help me do Easy Does it. I wont over extend myself. I wont eat or drink or smoke, etc anything that is not good for me. I will go to the doctor when needed. I will try to get plenty of sleep. I will try to exercise every day. And I wont allow myself ot anxious over family or celebrations. Very good slogan for me.

I is for Isolation. It is part of my dis-ease, it is not a tool of recovery. When we isolate, we block not only others from our life, but our connection to our Higher Power. For me, isolation means wall, whether they are mental, emotional, or physical.

M is for Merry Christmas. May you make up your mind to have the best Christmas ever. You only get out of it what you put into it. It isn't about the other person(s), it is about you. It isn't about other Christmas' remembered from the past, it is about today. Make new memories.

O is for Our. When you are in a relationship, they say it should be, "My program, his/her program, and our program." Our programs may differ, yet the goal is always the same, how to obtain sobriety in today.

Q is for Quick. Recovery isn't a quick fix. We don't offer band aids. This is a one day at a time program. We ask that you keep coming so that you don't have to don't have to go back to where you came from. We have to learn to crawl before we can walk, and yet we urge you to quicken your step to the nearest meeting to the fellowship of your choice.

S is for Sobriety. Have it if you can. My sponsor said it means "Soundness of mind." In order to have that, I had to work on my emotional sobriety daily. I didn't even know what serenity was, I had to have it pointed out to me.
