E is for Everything. When I asked my sponsor what I needed to change, I was told everything. Do the opposite of what you normally do, and should should be about right. Maybe that is why they say progress not perfection. Each day is a new beginning to try to get it right. The Eagle is my totem for the East. Everything begins in the east. The Eagle according to Jamie Sams, means Spirit. To learn more check out this link. www.spiritanimal.info/eagle-spirit-animal/

is for Group. Find yourself a home group. Do your 90 meetings in 90 days, and find a group that you feel comfortable in. you can look for a sponsor too, but she doesn't have to be from your home group. When you find a group you feel comfortable in, get involved in service, just being there each week is working Step 12.

i is for Isolation. Try not to miss too many meetings. i know when I missed one in early recovery, I was afraid I would relapse. All we have is a spiritual defence and isolation cuts me off from my God's Will for me.

J is for Jails, Institutions, and Death. I have been to jail in recovery to do service to the women, men, and young offenders. I never got there prior to recovery. As my ex-husband use to point out, "It isn't that you didn't do, you just didn't get caught doing it." If you haven't been there, tell yourself yet, if you continue to use. No matter what you use, it all leads to the same soul sickness.

O is for Over Due. I have found that I have been overdue on a lot of things, not just my library books. I have been overdue on picking up the phone, reading recover material ( I must confess that when I am in a hurray I don't always read the posts I have been making lately. I feel that my medication makes me brain dead and I AM NOT SO QUICK on the thinking any more.

R is for Reap What You Sew. We only get out of our recovery what we put into it. If we work the program, we will start to feel better about ourselves and we get to have friends and many other benefit as a result of being sober. We start to love ourselves, more importantly we learn to like ourselves. Recover gave us promises that come true.
