A is for Awareness. I need to be aware of something before I can change it. I know that I didn't have a clue as to how sick I was until I was triggered into looking at myself and being honest.
Awareness doesn't change things, but it can be the first step if I am willing to follow it up with Admittance, Acceptance, Action and Attitude.

C is for Choice. I am given freedom of choice. I can choose to have a good day or stay in a bad one. I can choose to work my program or not work it today. Just for today, I choose not to pick up. I choose to stay clean and sober.

D is for Devotion. Each day I try to devote some time to my HP and read my daily meditations. The meaning of the word is committment. Look up your dictionary or Thesaurus or the word, I found it interesting.

E is for Easy. I am reminded to "Easy does it, but do it." The program is simple but it isn't always easy. Don't drink, don't pick up, go to meetings, get a sponsor, get active, ask for help, find your God, pray, meditate and live in today.

Iis for Identify. When I identify instead of compare, I have a greater understanding of my disease and recovery. When I compared, I stayed sick, when I identified, I was able to make changes and heal.

K is for Knowledge. It can be powerful, only when it is followed up with action. Knowing is one thing, but applying the principles to our lives is another story. Many people can quote the Big Book and the !2 & 12 chapter and verse but have trouble taking those words and living by them.

M is for Memory. I must remember what it was like in early recovery as well as what it was like be before recovery. Personally, I don't want to go back there. My disease tells me I don't have a problem, that I am okay, that things weren't so bad..... I must keep my memory healthy and active. I need food for the body, mind and spirit.

N is for Normal. I was told that 'normal' is a cycle on a washing machine. I had to learn to identify not compare and find out what was right for me.

Q is for Quiet. I need to quiet my mind so that I can hear the answers above the noise of the internal chatter. It says to pray without ceasing, but there comes a time when I must stop, have faith, and know the answers will come.

S is for Serenity. When I am willing not to let anything to get in the way of my Serenity, I can let go of the chaos and find peace. For me, Serenity is soundness of mind. When I indulge in self-abuse in any form or project it on to others, I can not maintain Serenity.

T is for Trust. By learning to trust in my Higher Power, I learned to trust myself. My sponsor said, "If you are doubting yourself, you are doubting God." You are not keeping the faith.
