A is for Awareness. I can not change something until I am aware that the issue is there. I need to take an honest look to see what is in my life that no longer serves it's purpose and no longer serves me in good stead in today. Just because it worked 17 years, 17 months, 17 days, or 17 hours ago, doesn't mean that it is in my best interest in today.

B is for BUT..... Today I dont have to say BUT to justify my words or actions. I can own what I say and do and won't make excuses, justify or rationalize. If I make the best choices, there is really no need!

C is for Cry. Let the tears out. Let yourself grieve. It took me a long time to "Do Tears!" Cleanse your body, mind and spirit by letting go and releasing all the old pain and hurts.

D is for: Denial
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns Denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.” - - - Melody Beattie

E is for Everyone. Everyone is welcome to take part. Recover is a 'We' program. Everyone I talked to that relapsed, stopped going to meetings. Doesn't matter if it is f2f or on line, they are all an important connection for sobriety.

F is for: Feelings
Feelings are like little guides that lead us to the depths of who we are, I am no longer afraid to go there. Today I know that to Feel is to heal in a sacred and profound way. Today I am grateful for my Feelings.

I is for Isolation. Isolation is part of my disease. It is not a part of my recovery. Isolation blocks me from the sunshine of the spirit. It brings me back to the big " " AM! Me, myself and I are symptoms of my disease.

K is for K.I.S.S. Didn't like this when I came into recovery. All I heard was Keep It Simple Stupid! What a negative. Then I heard, "Keep It Simple Sweetheart!" My sponsor told me to look for the positive.

O is for Others. Caring for others doesn't mean doing for them the things they can do for themselves. Caring is being a friend, loaning an ear or a shoulder, having some compassion, sympathy, and support of what they are going through. We cant' do for them but we can be there for them.

Q is for Quest. My spiritual quest started when I was a year sober. Before that I thought I knew who God was. Then I got confused by listening to all the different concepts of God, so I had to go on a quest of my own. I had to make God personal and find out who He was to me. I had to quit debating, either God is or He isn't! I knew He was. I saw Him at work in my life. The longer the quest, the greater the connection.
