If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner."
~ Tallulah Bankhead
There is nothing wrong with making mistakes - just try to learn from them. Some companies reward their employees if they make mistakes because that indicates that the employees are trying something new!
Try something new today! See what happens. And have fun while you so it.

If you want to become more grateful, you need to motivate yourself as well. Gratitude is a skill that you can practice - just like practicing for winning that championship! Small steps each day as you work on your gratitude will make great progress as time moves ahead.

Prayer reaches it's highest level as gratitude.

Just found this on my site, today has been one of gratitude for me, even though I got woke up with hammering upstairs.
From "Going with the Flow:"
"One way to keep the channel open and to improve my conscious contact with God is to maintain a grateful attitude. On the days when I am grateful, good things seem to happen in my life. The instant I start cursing things in my life, however, the flow of good stops. God did not interrupt the flow; my own negativity did."

Meister Eckhardt said, "If there was only one prayer you could give, one prayer, it should be 'Thank you, God.'" Gratitude is more than good manners; it is the means by which we exercise our heart, giving thanks for what we formerly took for granted. We can say, "Thank you, God, for helping a kid learn to read," or "Thank you for being there. Even when everything seems to go wrong in my life, I can still feel your Presence." Mary Manin Morrissey

"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you'll never walk alone."

"I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet."
- Denis Waitely
The opposite of being grateful is taking something for granted. I try not to take anything for granted. The real test comes when you take a step back and evaluate a situation.
One of the most frequent things taken for granted is our health. For most people, our health is expected to be good; we wake up in the morning and go about our way without even a thought about it.
It is the last thing from our mind until... we get sick, or get a headache, or get an ache or pain.
I knew that I would feel some discomfort when I donated my bone marrow, and I am experiencing that this very moment. I search for a comfortable position to sit on the couch. Honestly, I have never been grateful for the simple act of being able to be comfortable as I sit down! Oh how I wish it was easier!
Is there anything that you can think about right now that you take for granted?

When you try to look for the goodness in your life, it may seem hard. You may truly be in a difficult spot in your life. At these points, you may have to search out for something that you can be grateful for. Once you find it, look for something else that is probably related to that. And then the next. And then the next. And so on. And so on.

"The world is a great mirror. It reflects back to you what you are. If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove loving and friendly and helpful to you. The world is what you are."

"Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn't stop to enjoy it."
- William Feather
I bet you have heard the expression, "Stop and smell the roses", but have you followed its advice?
Take time to enjoy your victories! Take time to enjoy the things in life that many people simply pass by. For today, try to find 3 things that you might take for granted and celebrate your gratitude for them!

"I would rather be able to appreciate things I cannot have than to have things I am not able to appreciate."
- Elbert Hubbard
What do you have now that you do not appreciate? I am sure there is something! For me, it is a pile of magazines that certainly know that I will find the time to go through and read them... The pile starts on the floor and is about waist high! Do I appreciate them? Heck - I do not even know why some of them arrive at the house! On the other hand, I have been admiring a set of speakers for my computer for about 6 months (if not longer). I certainly appreciate the sound quality that comes out of them.

Live out of your imagination, not your history."
-- Stephen Covey
When you express your gratitude, you are living out your 'Now'. You are present. You are here.
You are NOT wallowing in the past, or fixated on what already has happened, and you are not clinging to anchors that hold you back.

"Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it because it gives any challenge or any occupation, no matter how frightening or difficult, a new meaning. Without enthusiasm you are doomed to a life of mediocrity but with it you can accomplish miracles."
- Og Mandino
