"One surefire way to stay creative: force yourself to learn something new."
- Harvey Mackay
Sometimes you have to try something new; you have to go ahead and learn something if you want to improve and grow.
As you try and achieve, or even try and not achieve, you will still learn and thus, be creative.
Don't feel intimidated for trying something new. If you are scared, do it anyway!

"You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him to find it within himself." - Galileo
Someone asked me if I like teaching people about gratitude. I answered, "I can't say that I teach it because it is really up to each person to want to experience it for themselves. I can only lead by example and if something clicks or resonates, that is fantastic! If not - well that is equally as good!"

"Be grateful for the joy of life. Be glad for the privilege of work. Be thankful for the opportunity to give and serve. Good work is the great character-builder, the sweetener of life, the maker of destiny. Let the spirit of your work be right, and whether your task be great or small you will then have the satisfaction of knowing it is worth while."
- Grenville Kleiser

"Every worthwhile accomplishment has a price tag attached to it. The question is always whether you are willing to pay the price to attain it--in hard work, sacrifice, patience, faith and endurance."
- John C. Maxwell
Life is full of trade-offs. What are you willing to give up in order to accomplish something new?
Good news! You never have to give up gratitude to accomplish something new! It is like the gift that keeps giving!

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice. ~Meister Eckhart

Love this, as my sponsor says, "A grateful alcoholic will never had a reason to pick up." Lot of excuses, but no reason!

"Saying thank you is more than good manners. It is good spirituality."
- Alfred Painter
When you say Thank you and feel it on an emotional level, you will feel better. Try not to get caught up in the 'right thing' to say - feel the emotion that goes along with expressing your gratitude towards someone.

"Every second you spend thinking about someone else's dreams you take time away from your own." - Yogi Ramen
Are you spending time working towards your goals and dreams? Or, are you like countless of people who are pursuing someone else's dream? Do you REALLY know why you are doing what you are doing?

"Every man is a d**n fool for at least five minutes every day. Wisdom consists in not exceeding that limit."
- Elbert Hubbard
A lot of people are scared of making a mistake. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes. Make as many as you want, as long as you learn from the mistakes and don't make the same ones over and over.
If you make a mistake, be grateful for the mistake as it is a learning experience. Learn from it and move on. Go out and make some mistakes!

Love the quote. Reminds me of what I heard a long-timer say in early recovery. "I don't have bad days, I only have bad moments in a day." I have a choice as to whether I take them with me or let them go.

"Most people are so busy knocking themselves out trying to do everything they think they should, they never get around to do what they want to do."
- Kathleen Winsor
Are you spending time on trying to do everything, or, are you working on things you want to do? Are you working harder or smarter? Are you doing things that really help you feel grateful, or are you unhappy doing the things you are doing? Truly successful people seldom work alone. They work with a team. You cannot do everything on your own. When you work as a team, you will then get to do the things that you want to do. And when you are really doing the things that you want to do, then, and only then, will you truly start to feel grateful.

Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws."
- Plato
When you do the right thing, you invite gratitude to spend time with you. When you circumvent the right thing, you know it. You will feel it. It won't feel too good.
